While you're on various comparison sites checking out the cost of life insurances, try seeing if your home insurance could be cheaper too. I took mine out with the same company, not because they gave me the best deal but because when I made a claim I was able to speak to someone in my own country, they contacted the firm needed for repairs and all I had to do was pay the excess. I was so pleased with their service that I am happy to pay a little bit extra to be safe in the knowledge that I am with a reputable company, who were helpful and understanding when I needed to make a claim. I had left sorting out my home insurance to someone else and ended up paying twice for the same product, it wasn't until I had to make a claim that I realised this. The second insurance company was not at all helpful. A laptop screen had been broken and, before they would consider the claim, I was asked to get three quotes for a repair. Everyone I spoke to about a repair said it was impossible to repair a laptop screen. Eventually I contacted the insurance company and they asked me to send the laptop to them to see if they could get it repaired. Three months later I received a new laptop and a letter telling me that laptop screens could not be repaired. Needless to say, I cancelled with the second company.

So when you are considering taking measures to compare life insurance rates, remember that sometimes it's worth paying a little bit extra to have the peace of mind offered by a helpful company, rather than just taking the cheapest option and finding out they are unhelpful and you are left with the task of finding quotes for repairs.

Commercial insurances would have to cover much more than just your home, your business premises or your life. They would need to cover the lives of your employees and any other of your service users. It is also a good idea nowadays to look at taking out insurance against being sued. When you compare life insurance quotes for commercial rates you may also be directed to other types of insurance.
