I was talking to my cousin the other day while we were on our way to see grandma. He was telling me that we should get grandma a life insurance already while we still can. He gave me this name of an insurance company that he said is the best life insurance in the country. So okay! I told my sister about the idea, and she seemed to like it. We will probably be browsing insurance policies in the next couple of days. I may also have to insure the house, if it's not that expensive. The recent tragedy in the general part of Metro Manila and its neighbouring places is a sort of a wake-up call that all properties should be insured, too. It was really sad to see all those cars floating in the flood water, residential and commercial buildings being destroyed by force of the overflowing river. After the storm, everyone, who evacuated to the nearest safe shelter, had no other choice but to watch their mud-soaked properties, all useless now. It was really a sad situation. The damage in properties, according to the National Disaster Coordinating Council, had reached to more than PHP4 billion. I don't know how many percent of that can still be recovered, if at all.

So I really think, that should be a lesson already, that I should insure everything I own like our home and the cars, not only my grandmother. I think I'll get that best life insurance for her, like what cousin had told me.

On the other hand, I'm also worried if this best life insurance would really pay me back in time that I would be needing it. With the recent situation in the global scene, I actually have reservations for anything pre-need. Well, I'll ask some reliable friends about this issue, or if there's really such a thing as best life insurance.

Anyway, I'll probably be getting one just in case. I'm still young, but no one can really know of what's going to happen in the future. I have two kids, and I they're still very young.

I remember my mom had insured herself and dad when I was only in high school. They're still okay, though, but it was not a bad idea at all, especially that dad is already out of work now. At least, we won't be worried about the both of them in the future.

Well, that's already a lot to think about. I should start doing some research.
