'I'm just popping out to get that life insurance sorted love, Ive got an appointment with a broker , it shouldn't take me long, do you want anything while I'm out'
'Can't think of anything, oh just bring a daily paper back and some firelighters we're out oh....and a bar of chocolate pleeeeeeease' I grinned
'Sweetheart your diet........ooooohok then , back soon'
'Byeeee'
We talked about it before, about the need to buy life insurance. We have everything, our twins, a beautiful house and good jobs. We didn't want it all to fall apart because we had not bothered to Take time out to insure ourselves.
We searched online to find someone reputable and local to buy our life insurance. It didn't take long thank goodness. Thing is, the liability for what happens financially is down to us , so thank heavens we are both on the same wavelength about ours and our children's future security and decided to arrange to buy life insurance.
Well that's enough of that. While he's gone out to buy life insurance Ill get on with this blessed cupboard sorting while the twins are napping.
I'm sorting out all those photos that have been waiting to be sorted and put into albums. All those memories and moments captured in time forever but end up stuffed into boxes. Are the photographs more accurate than my memories ? I pondered.
Ha, here's one sat on my dads knee. I remember that day. I was about four at the time and we had gone to visit my grandma. Mum, I remember was crying, though I didn't know why at the time. Dad just kept cuddling her and keeping me away from grandmas bedroom. It didn't feel like a particularly happy day not inside the house anyway. Dad had taken me outside for an ice cream and we'd sat on the garden bench when I climbed over onto his lap. I remember the neighbour who took a picture of us .I guess they must have passed it on to dad and that's how I got it.
It was a nice picture a loving and happy picture with me covered in ice cream over my face and hands and me and dad sharing a moment of laughter. Anyone else looking at this picture would not realise the sadness going on in the background of these two people.
I guess it demonstrates that while a picture only captures a moment it also has the power to trigger a deeper, myriad of memories which bring a photo to life.
Ah there's the door.
'Hi love. did you manage to buy life insurance for us ?'
'No problem, we're covered'
I smiled and put the photos back in the box to carry on sorting another day.
